WHO THE HELL ARE YOU

To be clear, this description may change with age or, a good cup of coffee. This description does not guarantee accuracy as KJ likes to be constantly on the move. Kaija Campbell, also known by the art alias of KJ, is a New York native (Westchester, those

suburbs north of the city). Minus a two year stint in the Midwest, Kaija remained in NY until making her first international move at age 18 to the bright city of Madrid. Spain is where KJ originated and arguably made her debut. Kaija has been producing art and various creative works from a very young age but KJ came about so late because she never thought she'd make a career out of it. She received very little professional art education (her dad will not

stop telling her this is where she went wrong) but she developed herself in Madrid, honing in on her interest in project directorship, talent scouting and event production, especially in the music scene. Kaija currently resides in Singapore, earning a masters in entrepreneurship. She has decided to give this whole “art thing“ a go and see where it takes her. That's the funny bit about figuring out who the hell you are...

Kaija didn't know who she was for quite some time. She thought she had it all figured out, probably by age 6, but fell into turmoil by age 11, so things went to shit rather quickly. At 16 she believed she at least, maybe sorta-kinda, had the world figured out but again, just several months later at 17 that also went to shit. Today, she recognizes very very few people can have the world figured out, and even then it's just a human order we make to make sense of it all, a way to go on living. She also knows you can figure yourself out some one day and only to find out less the next, but thats perfectly fine. As long you've got a bit of soul to you and a willingness to learn- you'll be okay. Much like many of her projects, she's got a lot of work to do but she's also come so far. Kaija grew up with four sisters and a brother. This was and still is a prominent factor in who she is, but now with a slightly shedded eldest daughter syndrome. Her actual eldest sister grew up in Norway, the love is strong but made Kaija the oldest in the home. Her family is still one of the most important things to her, no matter where in

the world she resides. Moving to Madrid was among the best decisions she ever made. She is often asked “why Spain?“, she's never really had a real answer. She laughs in agreeance when people say it must be the weather or that lovely midday siesta nap, even though she knows that siesta might be the worst part about it, as shops you need have a midday close or that you still feel a chilling cold in January and February.

The truth is, she just picked it. There, she grew up and also became a kid again, gained and lost friends, experienced life for all it could offer and make you hurt, and of course learned Spanish (eventually). KJ realized where her efforts were needed a year after earning her bachelors in Psychology and African American studies in Madrid; a time to recollect herself with loved ones in NY, energy to work on a project like this website and all it encompasses. Now she's returned to academic studies at Singapore Management University (of course, now frequently asked “but why Singapore?“) to build a bigger and better business. She will be creating until her last breath, someway somehow.
